Patient’s Worst Nightmare

Posted: July 3, 2009 in Uncategorized

This is absolutely unbelievable! Although I guess in today’s society I really shouldn’t be too surprised. This complete waste of space in Denver, Kristen Diane Parker, might have infected thousands of patients with hepatitis C. What a lovely human being.

Parker was a surgical technician at Rose Medical Center in Denver from October 2008 to April 2009. During that time she stole patients fentanyl injections and replaced them with her used syringes filled with saline solution. So far nine patients who had surgery at Rose Medical Center during the time she worked there have tested positive for hepatitis C. The hospital is contacting 4,700 patients who had surgery there during the time this lowlife worked there.

After leaving Rose Medical Center she worked at Audubon Ambulatory Surgical Center in Colorado Springs. They’re now contacting 1,200 patients who are at risk because of her.

Parker was arrested on three drug-related charges and is currently in federal custody. Apparently she will suffer no consequences for her actions relating to the patients unless serious harm has been done to them (for which she can face up to 20 years in prison) or if one of them dies (for which can face life in prison). I don’t see why see can’t be charged for what she’s done. Absolutely charge her if it can be proven that any patient contacted hepatitis C from her. However, she should be charged for her actions. At the very least you’d think she could be charged with willful negligence. At the very least.  Especially since she has admitted to doing this.  Seriously, I just can’t for the life of me understand how she’s not being charged.
